Eagle Award

Luke was honored to win the Eagle Award this month for the character trait, trustworthiness.

From his teacher: "The character trait we are recognizing this month is Trustworthiness, and Luke embodies this trait.  He is direct and always forthcoming about anything that needs to be addressed.  His friends can rely on him week in, week out.  I can totally trust Luke to follow through on any job he is given. In addition, he is also such an outstanding citizen in our class showing caring, helpfulness, cooperation, and eagerness to learn every day."

Luke turns 6

Luke turned 6 with a party at the park near our house. We lucked out because it was not too hot.

Brad was in charge of the games which included stomping on balloons attached to other kids, pin the car on the car, and a Cars pinata

Super Star

In Kindergarten each kid gets to be the Super Star for one week. The Super Star gets to be the Line Leader for the week and gets to help with special jobs in the class. This week it was finally Luke's turn.

He decorated a poster with pictures from his life and he wrote his age and what each picture was. He showed it to his class and told them different things about himself. The special week ended with Brad and I having lunch with him.

The Kindergarten musical, A Farmer's Life, was also this week.

It was followed by the art show where we got to see their farm art.

Mother's Day

Luke's class had a very sweet Mother's Day for the moms. We got invitations to "Mother's Day Tea" in their class.

The kids drew pictures of their moms. We had to guess which one was a picture of ourselves.  I had a tough time identifying my picture.

They had a special punch and snacks for us and we could share them with the kids "if we wanted". They made us a nice card and little book of nice things they wrote about us.

Then they sang us a bunch of cute songs. One of them was a take on the old Oscar Mayer wiener commercial.

Spring Activities

Luke really enjoyed playing t-ball and he got the award for most improved.

At the Touch a Truck event the kids got to get inside all kinds of construction and big vehicles. They got to push all the buttons and honk all the horns.
