Three!

We celebrated Luke's 3rd birthday at My Gym. This was his first birthday party he got to invite friends to, not just family.
He was very excited about having a birthday party and kept asking who was coming.

He really enjoyed getting out of the ball pit head first.

"It's my birthday!"

We finally got him to try a plain cupcake the day before his birthday and he liked it! But, at the party he filled up on drinks and goldfish so there was no room for pizza or a cupcake.

We waited until after naptime to open gifts. He was thrilled because just about everything he got had wheels.  This one was from mama and daddy.  It has a speedometer and according to Luke it goes up to 19!

Special thanks to my dad and the Waldens for some of the pictures and video!

Swim School

Luke started swim school yesterday. After hearing so many good things about it from the Waldens we finally signed him up.

He had a great time and had no trouble jumping right in to his teacher's arms. He's a little over zealous with kicking and splashing, but he had a great time!

After class we joined his classmate at the nearby donut shop. Of course he chose the pink one with sprinkles :)

Vacation 2012

With a baby on the way this summer we decided to stay close to home and take a mini vacation over a long weekend.  We went to Port Aransas, which has been our annual locale of choice the past few years.

A case of pink eye kept us from hitting the beach early on our first full day. We managed to get in a short swim at the condo pool before nap time and were excited to find that Luke was not afraid to go in the pool anymore!  He had a great time riding on our backs while we swam around.

We finally made it to the beach late that afternoon. Luke's favorite beach toy was the watering can he used to fill up the sand castle moat and to wash the sand off our feet.

The food on this trip was not the best, but we had lots of fun going out.

The excitement of the last day was watching a bull dozer and some dump trucks move sand around on the beach.
