First Day of Kindergarten

We've been talking about August 25th with Luke for weeks. We moved to a "new" city because of this day. Luke's been anxious about it, and even seemed like he was coming down with something yesterday, but he looked at ease when we left him in his class. And we managed without any tears hitting our cheeks!

He's ready to go with his new outfit and backpack. He loves anything new! He wanted me to give him something different for lunch, just so he could use the new travel silverware he discovered as we were about to walk out the door.

Ready to cross the street to the school!

Showing off his cubby (his stuff is camo, so you can't see it). When he greeted his teacher he proudly told her "today is my first day!"

As I walked out of the room he reminded me to pick him up :)

He had a long day, but it sounded like he enjoyed it. He told us he was excited and not scared at all.

Luke and Mama's Big Day Out

I took a day off this week to do fun things with Luke before he starts Kindergarten. We had a great day! Our first stop was Kerbey Lane for some pancakes.

Next we went to the Thinkery.

Luke really likes plums.

This place was awesome. We will be going back. But not at peak time.

After the Thinkery I took him to see his first movie. Planes: Fire and Rescue. He was so excited. He knew he had to be quiet and whisper.

102 degrees. Naturally we had to get some frozen yogurt next. Luke likes his to get soupy.

Since we no longer have a neighborhood pool the splash pad by the theater was our best "swimming" option.

Summer Wrap Up

This summer has been a whirlwind. Here are a couple of pictures from Luke's Pre-K graduation ceremony.

It's hard to believe he's been at the school for 4 years and is ready to move on. He's learned so much and had so many good times there. And yes, he did eat that piece of cake!

We were invited to a birthday party for one of Charlie's friends. It was a pool party and the boys had a blast. Another one of Luke's buddies, Vincent, was there and the two had so much fun.

While the boys are learning how to ride their bikes we've been practicing at the park where there's plenty of flat space.

We discovered something new and the boys put on a concert for us while we sat on the stone benches.

Charlie is 2!

Luke was in charge of keeping Charlie from touching the candle.

Charlie was pretty pooped and only ate two bites of his little bundt cake.

He was in to opening his presents this year.

The xylophone from the California crew was a big hit!
